Following recommendations made by the Internal Audit Service concerning, inter alia, the need to clarify the governance of the CHIS, amendments were approved by the Director-General following examination at the Standing Concertation Committee meeting on 10 April 2014.
The new rules entered into force on 1 June 2014 and are available on the intranet site of the CHIS: http://cern.ch/chis/doc/Rules2014F.pdf
The new rules provide for the involvement of three entities in the governance of the CHIS: an Administrator, a Strategic Advisor and a joint body (the CHIS Board), all appointed by the Director-General. The CHIS Board will be composed of four members appointed by the Director-General, including the Administrator, and four members appointed by the Staff Association. The Strategic Advisor will preside over the CHIS Board.
