Users' Office Survey on a new Health Insurance project for Users

ACCU decided at its last meeting on 6 March 2013 to launch a quick survey addressed to all Users and other Associated Members of the Personnel to inquire about their interest in a new health and accident insurance project. The survey consists of two to four questions and the answers are non-binding. If sufficient interest is expressed then the project will be continued. The outcome of the survey will serve for the discussion with the insurance company. The deadline of the survey is 1 May 2013.

Users and other Associated Members of the Personnel have the obligation to be insured against the risk of medical expenses due to illness and professional and private accidents during the duration of their contract with CERN. This applies also to family members for health insurance. The insurance must be valid both in Switzerland and in France.

Some Users appear not to be sufficiently insured or cannot easily find a cost efficient solution. CERN has therefore launched a project for finding an adequate insurance which fulfils the requirements for a contract of association with CERN.
