CERN is committed to minimising its environmental impact through a wide range of projects aimed notably at managing energy use, cutting greenhouse gas emissions, conserving water, protecting biodiversity and managing waste. This Town Hall event will provide an overview of the key initiatives under way and highlight the progress made towards meeting CERN's current environmental targets at the end of Run 3, with an update regarding CERN’s third Environment Report (2021–2022), published in December 2023. You'll also hear about the updated goals for Horizon 2030 and the specific projects designed to achieve them.
This Town Hall event is not just an update – it’s an invitation for you to engage in shaping CERN’s environmental priorities. We’ll discuss how each of us can contribute to making CERN’s operations more sustainable and to meeting the Organization's commitment to environmental responsibility.
We encourage everyone to attend and be part of this important exchange. Your participation is key to our collective success in fostering a sustainable future at CERN. Don’t miss this opportunity to be involved!
