Following the heinous acts of terrorism committed in Paris on 13 November, 2015, I wish to express, on your behalf, and on behalf of CERN, our solidarity with France, a founding Member and Host State of CERN, and with the French people who have once again been subject to acts of barbarism.
These unspeakable acts are counter to our shared common values, values that are at the foundation of CERN, and of our desire to live and work together in harmony, regardless of nationality, political or religious views.
I invite you all to respect the moment of reflection that has been declared in France for the victims and, for those who are able, to assemble the lawn outside Restaurant 1 from 11:50 in an act of solidarity.
