Digital artists are those inspired and imaginative people who create artworks using digital media. Cassandre Poirier-Simon, a designer and digital artist with a firm intention to map stories on space and time, won the prize Collide Geneva 2016 with Arts at CERN and did her residency from November 2016 to January 2017. The prize is part of the ongoing partnership with the Republic and Canton of Geneva, the City of Geneva, and CERN. At CERN, Cassandre was supported with the guide and partnership of Maria Dimou from the IT Department.

The creative collision triggered by CERN’s Arts programme was so effective that, in March, Cassandre gave a digital writing workshop for scientists on narration structures in space using Google Street View as a playground. Non-linear stories, recursion, opening of windows on other times, such are the inspiring thoughts that were generated in the various exchanges the artist had with CERN scientists.
