Bootstrapping Black Holes

Where:

500/1-001 at CERN
I will review developments in the “matrix bootstrap” program, a technique for solving large N, strongly coupled quantum systems. I will describe bootstrap bounds on the BFSS matrix theory, which in the planar limit is dual to a particular 10d black hole. I will discuss prospects for using the matrix bootstrap to study properties of the black hole that go beyond general relativity.
